The Big Apple, The City of Dreams, The City That Never Sleeps, The Concrete Jungle, The Empire City, and The Capital of the World are just some of the nicknames for the legendary New York City. With so many nicknames, you can bet that New York has many places to visit. If you are not impressed by the city’s soaring skyscrapers and monuments, you may be blown away by its inspired art, food, fashion, and nightlife. We do not know how much time you have, but let’s see how much of New York we can cover in this article. When you are ready to book your trip, just call WingToGo and let us handle the rest!

Times Square

Times Square is only five blocks of New York, but this is what many people visualize when they think of New York. It’s lively, exciting, colorful, and always jumping. In fact, most travelers prefer to visit this area after dark to totally soak up the neon lights and marquee displays. If you visit New York, then you have got to get a picture at Times Square.

Broadway

Broadway, also known as “The Great White Way,” represents the heart and soul of American theater. If you enjoy plays and musicals, then you might even end up spending your whole trip here, as many travelers do. There is something for everybody. You have family friendly performances as well as shows for adults. Make sure to grab your tickets in advance though, because everyone knows the value of a Broadway performance and tickets quickly sell out.

Central Park

The concrete jungle can put you out of your natural zone. This is why Central Park is so notable. This 843-acre green space swallows a great chunk of central Manhattan and is a great place to bike, take a walk, exercise, dine, go to the zoo, and more. The part-park, part-museum, and part-concert hall is a must-see for anyone visiting New York and is fantastic year-round.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

“The Met” is a museum like no other. With collections of masterpieces from all over the world, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is an art experience that is impossible to fully soak in just one day, let alone a few hours. If it is your first time visiting “the Met,” then start with the permanent collections: the first floor’s Greek and Roman art as well as the Egyptian art and the second floor’s Art of the Arab Lands. If you have already visited the museum, then check out a semiannual exhibit.

Statue of Liberty

Another solid symbol of New York, the Statue of Liberty can be difficult to see up close. If you want to visit this renowned beacon, then get up early because lines are long. You will have to wait for a ferry to ship you from Battery Park to the statue in Liberty Island followed by a stop at Ellis Island before returning to the mainland. Waiting can take around 90 minutes and the first boat of the day leaves at 9 a.m. So, chow down that breakfast and get out there!
